An Afternoon of Pansies
Join us for an afternoon celebration of the bright and cheery pansy as we gather to paint, learn, and enjoy the spring garden together! To start, instructor Brenna Estrada—an accomplished farmer florist and author of the new book Pansies—will convey her tried and true tips for sowing pansies from seed to ensure the best germination rates and healthiest plants, as well as give additional growing advice to ensure your pansies thrive all season. Attendees will take home a terracotta pot of pansies and a pack of specialty seed, lending further inspiration and opportunity to paint pansies at home. During this instruction, you will enjoy a local and seasonal feast from our artist in food, Ashley Rodriguez, with a menu that has been artfully handcrafted based on what is available on and around the farm, forest, field and sea. Then, it’s time to pick up your paint brushes! Instructor Sarah Simon—a.k.a. The Mint Gardener—will guide us through the techniques she uses for watercolor, as she uniquely teaches the foundations of this art as a transferable and mindful skill.

Spring Foraging Class at Bella Luna Farms
Join us for an afternoon on the farm where we’ll wander the woods in search of wild spring edibles. Led by instructor Ashley Rodriguez—a Seattle-based writer, eco-spiritual guide, photographer, and the author of four books—we’ll gather a few ingredients and point out many others along the journey that are easy to identify for any curious forager. Back in the kitchen, we’ll cook together and share a spring feast with recipes from and inspired by Ashley’s latest cookbook, Rooted Kitchen. The springtime fresh menu will capture the best of the season, and the gifts provided by nature: Radishes dipped in wild greens butter; Spruce tip cured salmon with Rye cracker and crème fraîche; smoked asparagus and turnips with nettle Furikake; chicken with spring onions and Morel cream; and, finally a rhubarb and lilac Pavlova to finish. Come and join us!

Pottery & Coals
We will begin with a welcome prosecco cocktail served in cups from our Signature Collection while we enjoy some beautiful appetizers made my Ashley herself! Next, we will dive into a cooking demo where Ashley will show us unique ways to use herbs and flowers from the garden in culinary delights! The pottery portion of the day will be up next where we will forage our very own herbs and flowers to roll into ceramic platters to create whimsical impressions. Guests can sip their drinks, relax, and get creative while receiving hands-on instruction from Eleni and a helper. After the class concludes, pieces will be fired and finished up at our studio and available to be picked up or shipped directly to your home. Come enjoy a unique and luxurious experience with us and create something beautiful!
